Her career in journalism began with Myrtle Beach South Carolina as an anchor and news reporter at WPDE-TV. In later years, she was employed by WCBD as anchor for the morning show and as a crime reporter. O'Dell's reporting on the lax response of the police in response to DUI instances in Charleston resulted in an investigation being conducted by the State Law Enforcement Division, which led to a change in directive from state authorities regarding DUI cases. Ms. O'Dell was honored by The Associated Press with the Best Report of the Year award for all media in South Carolina. In the years following her stint in Charleston O'Dell worked as a co-anchor and investigative reporter for NBC's Miami station WTVJ-TV prior to joining Access Hollywood as a weekend anchor as well as a weekday correspondent. O'Dell anchors the main newscast at Access Hollywood. In addition, she contributes for NBC News Today and Dateline NBC. She covered events such as The Oscars, The Emmys, The Grammys, and The Golden Globe Awards. As well as co-hosting the Pre Show Arrivals for The Emmys & The Golden Globes.
